The Department of the Premier and Cabinet is the central policy agency for the Queensland Government.

Responding to major issues

Our department plays a vital role in ensuring that the Queensland Government's policies and priorities are effective in responding to the major issues affecting Queensland.

The development, coordination and implementation of whole-of-government policy is conducted within our department's Policy Division.

The Policy Division advises on and coordinates:

• economic policy
• environment and resources policy
• law and justice
• social policy.

The Policy Division also provides advice, intergovernmental support and a range of research services.
