Criminal Justice Evaluation Framework
The Queensland Government's comprehensive Criminal Justice Evaluation Framework (CJEF) helps Queensland Government agencies review their criminal justice programs and initiatives.
It provides Queensland Government officers with a flexible framework to plan, implement and report on criminal justice initiative evaluations and includes:
- an outline of key evaluation questions
- an examination of the type of data to be collected
- information on how to manage the evaluation process.

Three short documents have also been developed to supplement the original CJEF document. They:
- define evaluation generally and specifically in terms of the approach identified in the document title
- explain why evaluation is important and how the specific approach is conducted
- provide concrete, real−world examples of the way in which the specific approach to evaluation has been used in criminal justice research
- identify problems commonly faced by evaluators when using the specific approach and offer appropriate and accepted solutions
- refer readers to additional resources for further information or support.
