Queensland Government Advertising and Marketing Communication Code of Conduct

The Queensland Government Advertising and Marketing Communication Code of Conduct (Code of Conduct) provides guidance on the expectations and responsibilities of communicating as public sector organisations.

Summary

The Code of Conduct includes specific criteria to ensure advertising and marketing communication activities not only support the policy objectives of the government, but that the public can be confident communication from the Queensland Government is objective, factual and an efficient use of funds.

In August 2018, the Premier endorsed an updated Code of Conduct that should be adhered to by all Queensland Government departments and entities when planning, developing, approving and disseminating advertising and marketing communication.

At the final stage of the Government Advertising and Communication Committee (GACC) approval process, major campaigns require signed endorsement by the Director-General responsible that the campaign adheres to the Code of Conduct.
